eSIM (Consumer eUICC)

Consumer eSIM technology enables you to connect supported mobile phones and wearable devices without needing a physical SIM card. Instead of inserting a SIM, you activate your eSIM by simply scanning a QR code or clicking a secure download link. It’s quick, secure, and puts you in control.

How It Works

Consumer eSIMs use a secure, remote provisioning process to deliver your mobile profile directly to your device:

  • SM-DP+ (Subscription Manager – Data Preparation+): Prepares, stores, and delivers your eSIM profile securely.
  • LPA (Local Profile Assistant): A component on your device that handles downloading and managing the eSIM profile.

Activation Methods

Velocity IoT supports two easy ways to activate your Consumer eSIM:

  • QR Code: Scan a QR code with your device to instantly download and activate your profile.
  • Activation Link:  Via a unique URL to securely install the eSIM profile.

Supported Services

  • Download Profile: Install a new eSIM profile onto a compatible device.
  • Enable/ Disable Profile: Activate or deactivate an existing profile on the device without deleting it.
  • Delete Profile: Permanently remove an eSIM profile from the device.
  • Reuse Profile: Activate an existing eSIM profile on the same device or transfer it to a new one, if supported.
  • View / Control: Access and manage usage information related to the eSIM profile, including data, SMS, and location activity.
  • Poster QR Codes for Fleet Activation: For businesses deploying large numbers of devices, Velocity IoT supports Poster QR activation. This feature allows a single QR code to be reused across a fleet of devices, simplifying logistics and speeding up deployment—ideal for high-volume rollout.
  • IMSI: Single IMSI or multi-IMSI supported.

Activating eSIM

Activation Checklist

These are key items that must be verified or configured before your eSIM will work:

  • The device is compatible with eSIM technology and is unlocked.
  • The device has enough space for the profile download
  • The device is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data) during activation.
  • The APN is set correctly
  • Roaming is enabled
  • The eSIM profile includes coverage for the intended location.

These are general guidelines, may vary based on device manufacturer and model, consult device mannual


Scanning QR code

Some devices allow scanning the QR code directly using the device camera. If that doesn’t work, follow steps 1–3 below to activate through device settings:

  1. Go to device settings
  2. Navigate to:
  • Android: Connections > SIM Manager > Add eSIM > Scan QR Code
  • iOS: Settings > Mobile Data > Add Data Plan > Scan QR Code
  1. Scan the QR code provided
  2. Assign a name to your eSIM (optional)
  3. Set the APN to: flolive.net
  4. Enable Roaming in the mobile network settings

If you are using an activation link instead of a QR code:

  1. Open the activation link provided (LPA String)
  2. Tap the link on the device where the eSIM is to be installed
  3. This link must be open from a browser that supports LPA activation
  4. Confirm the download and installation of the profile when prompted
  5. Once the eSIM is installed go to device settings:

Check Your SIM in the Platform

Before your eSIM can be used, it must be present in your Velocity IoT platform account.

  • Enterprise Customers: Your SIMs are pre-provisioned and will appear automatically in your account. No additional setup is required.
  • Flex Customers: You must log into your account at www.velocityiot.net  add your SIM by entering the ICCID and selecting the appropriate plan.

Your ICCID will be provided at the time of purchase, but you can also find it directly on the device under SIM settings or in the system information section.
