General Guidance for Device Setup

Quickly connect VIoT-Flex SIMs to most cellular modules with our concise, user-friendly instructions.

Setup procedures can vary across different device modules. Always refer to the specific device manual for accurate guidance.

Step 1: Make Sure your Velocity IoT SIM is active

• For enterprise accounts check that your SIMs have been added to your account. If assistance is needed contact support@velocityiot.io
• Standard platform users should ensure their SIMs are added to their account. If this step is incomplete, refer to the guidelines for account creation and adding SIMs.

Step 2: Insert the SIM in your device

• Power off the IoT device before inserting the SIM card.
• Locate the SIM card slot, which is typically on the side or back of the device.
• Carefully insert the SIM card in the correct orientation as shown in the device's instructions or by the design of the slot.
• Once the SIM card is securely in place, the device is ready for network connection.

Step 3: Device Configuration

Set device APN

• Power off your device and insert the SIM card.
• Once powered on, set the device to utilize the APN: flolive.net

Configuring the APN with the following command should work on most modules

AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","flolive.net"

After APN configuration, you should be able to fetch an IP address and initiate a PPP connection. Always consult your device's manual if settings differ.

Setting the Device as Data Centric

Optimally, set your module to attach as a data-centric device. Refer to the manufacturer's documentation for specific instructions.

Enable Device Roaming

Roaming must be enabled for all devices on the VIoT-Flex SIMs. Refer to the manufacturer's documentation for specific instructions.
